The video project accompanying Rasa Weber’s Underwater Sculpture explores the hidden life of the River Spree beneath its surface. Through a custom-built live-streaming module developed by Jakob Kukula and Alexander Mohr, the sculpture is directly connected to the river, transmitting real-time underwater footage from the Spree into the exhibition space. The project reveals a perspective of the river that usually remains invisible — suspended particles, aquatic movement, changing light conditions, and the fragile ecology beneath the urban surface.

By merging sculpture, live media technology, and environmental observation, the work invites viewers to experience the Spree not as passive infrastructure, but as a living ecosystem in constant transformation.Embedded within the broader SpreeBerlin initiative, the project reflects on how artistic and technological tools can deepen public awareness for urban waters and create new forms of ecological connection and responsibility.
